Take your fly fishing skills to the next level with our Fly Fishing 201 class. Designed for anglers who already know the basics, this hands-on experience focuses on understanding trout behavior, reading productive water, matching the insects fish are feeding on, and making more confident decisions on the stream. You’ll spend the day applying these skills on a real trout stream with guidance from experienced instructors, helping you become a more successful and self-sufficient fly angler.
Whether you’ve taken Fly Fishing 101 or have some experience on your own, this class will help bridge the gap between knowing how to cast and consistently finding and catching more fish.

Who This Class Is For
This class is a great fit if you:

- Have struggled to consistently find or catch fish on your own.
- Want to improve your ability to read water and make better decisions on the stream.
- Enjoy learning through hands-on instruction in a small group setting.
What You’ll Learn
During this class you’ll learn how to:
- Read river currents and identify productive trout holding water.
- Understand how trout position themselves throughout a stream.
- Recognize common aquatic insects and match your fly selection.
- Improve your approach, presentation, and on-stream decision making.
- Adjust your strategy based on changing water conditions.
- Continue applying these skills on your own after class.
What to Expect
This is a hands-on class held entirely on the water. You’ll learn by observing, discussing, and immediately applying each concept while fishing alongside your instructor. Expect to walk short distances along the stream, ask questions throughout the day, and receive personalized coaching as you fish.
Prefer One-on-One Instruction?
If our scheduled class dates don’t fit your schedule or you’d prefer one-on-one instruction, we also offer private Fly Fishing lessons.
Private lessons allow you to choose the date, location, and pace of your instruction while working directly with one of our experienced guides. It’s a great option for anglers who want individualized coaching or have specific skills they’d like to develop.
Policies
Fishing For All classes and events are nonrefundable, but can be transferred to other available options.
Fishing For All does not collect your reservation or payment for programs with partner organizations, like our “Learn How to Ice Fish” programs. The partner organization will take your reservation and payment, and you are subject to their policies.
Youth Summer Camp deposits are nonrefundable within 30 days of camp start date. They can be transferred to other available options. The remainder will be auto-collected on the 1st day of the camp. Once camp has started, this amount is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
All class, event, and camp prices are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee and a $2/person booking fee. These costs are nonrefundable, but can be transferred with your deposit to another available option.
