Learn how to get better at ice fishing!

In this 4-hour course we’ll move beyond the basics and introduce you to a wide variety of ice-fishing lures, baits, and rigs designed to help you catch more fish through the ice. You’ll learn how to fine-tune your presentation, read winter water, and target specific species with confidence—whether you’re chasing bluegills, crappies, perch, pike, or walleye.
We’ll also dig deeper into fish behavior under the ice so you understand not just how to fish, but why certain techniques work in winter.
You’ll learn how to:
- Identify and use popular ice-fishing lures and baits
- Use ice rods and reels with precision jigging and dead-stick techniques
- Choose different types of line (mono, braid, fluorocarbon) and know when to use each
- Tie the most important knots for ice-fishing rigs and leaders
- Understand the biology and winter habits of target fish species
- Read ice-covered lakes and find high-percentage locations to drill holes and set lines
Ice Fishing 201 is ideal for anglers who already know the basics of ice fishing and want to improve their skills, catch more fish, and fish with greater intention and confidence on the ice.
