There’s nothing quite like watching a trout rise to your fly. Dry fly fishing is the moment many anglers wait for—the visual eat, the precision, and the challenge of matching what fish are feeding on at the surface.

Ready to take your fishing further? The Frequent Fisher Club gives you free, unlimited access to all 301-level classes plus eight exclusive member benefits, including discounts on trips and courses, early and priority access, member-only fishing opportunities, expert insights, and a connected network of anglers focused on fishing for joy, confidence, and community.
Dry fly fishing is one of the most fun ways to catch trout, but it requires a solid understanding of biology and specialized techniques to be successful. If you are looking to grow your dry fly fishing skills, look no further than our Dry Fly Class!
During this 3hr course, you’ll learn about many of the aquatic insects that trout feed on, their biology, and what fly patterns match them. Then we’ll head to the stream to practice various casting and drifting techniques, and learn how to “match the hatch” correctly to optimize your dry fly success.
Participants will need to bring their own equipment and flies, we’ll send a detailed supply list before the class.
The class will be held on the Rush River in western WI about 40mins away from MSP. A WI fishing license and trout stamp will also need to be purchased prior to the class.
